This week’s prompt 2:
What are your top 5 favorite vacation locations?
Here’s the embarrassing part of answering this question: Jim and I have been on three vacations since we got married. Three. And that counts the weekend we drove to Portland without the kiddo to take the dogs up before we moved. We’ve taken many, MANY day trips, and we’ve been to some incredible places. But we’ve been married 10 years and have not really been many places. So please take that into account as I actually answer the question: What are your top 5 favorite places you’ve visited?
5. Okinawa, Japan. Only in the spring, though, because it’s cooler, and I’m not really a tropical person.
It rained a lot in our few days there. This was near Hedo Point, the northernmost point of the island. April 2008.
4. Ebisu, Tokyo, Japan.
I think I loved Ebisu because it is so perfectly west-meets-east. There are a lot of western buildings and structures, but also the traditional Japanese ones and the modern buildings. Plus there’s a delicious brewery. (2008)
3. Colorado Rockies in the summer.
The Colorado mountains are one of my favorite places in the world. Where Jim and I got engaged, and where we spent our honeymoon. This picture was taken in Idaho Springs in 2009 by Jim’s sister, Rachel.
2. Tokyo Disney.
Tokyo Disney is so cool. There are two parks, Disney and DisneySea that are side-by-side. We spent two days at Disney in June of 2008, and we both loved it. It was my first (and only, so far) time at a Disney park.
1. Yokohama Bay, Tokyo, Japan.
Forever my favorite part of Tokyo, even though I don’t really have a good explanation as to why. The water plus the city plus a dreary day, maybe. I love Yokohama Bay! (2008)
