Eriana turned 18 months old on Friday. EIGHTEEN MONTHS OLD?! How did that happen so quickly? She was two days old, like, last week.
She was 2 days old in this picture. Crazypants.
But now, apparently, she’s big. And awesome. You guys. She’s just so awesome.
-I stopped counting her words at 40. That was about a month ago. She still prefers the toddler-tried-and-true method of pointing and grunting, but she CAN speak a lot of words. (Not just words she can say/repeat, but words she understands/can use in context.)
-She ADORES our dogs and cats. Loves them so much it’s ridiculous. She yells at the dogs to come inside if we’re out there with them, because she wants them near her. She likes to help give them treats and really wants to give them treats all day long every day. She makes them sit to get a treat. She likes to make them stay before they go outside and will hold up her hand and have a super stern look while she says, “stay!” She yells at them to quit barking when they’re out.
-She’s hilarious. She has this amazing fake laugh and will do things over and over that make us laugh. She holds her hands up for “what” and “where” at just the right time. She lifts her shirt to have her belly tickled, tries to tickle her friends, her family members, the pets, and herself while saying “tickle tickle tickle tickle” in a high-pitched voice. She likes to show you how fast she can run around the couch in the living room. She gets bashful when we ask her to sing or dance, but when she’s in the right mood or doesn’t know we’re looking she is a crazy dancing fool, and walks around singing or will mimic me.
-She wants to do everything herself, and can sign help, but often won’t or will cry when you offer it. This includes eating, but she’s starting to get much more picky, and just wants to feed herself what she wants when she wants it.
-She loves to play dress-up, and I will often find her in her room after a LONG period of quiet and will see her surrounded by clothes and/or shoes as she tries to put them on herself. Or she’ll bring me lots of clothes to put on her. She’s excellent at picking out her own outfits.
-She talks… all the time. No, seriously. ALL the time. 90% of the day sounds like she does in this video (look, I tried to get it to embed, but couldn’t. But click, please; it’s worth it, and like 13 seconds). And I’m okay with that. I think it’s hilarious. Most of the time she’s just talking. She isn’t always talking TO me. (The hand gestures and head shaking and expressions? Always. Talking to a dog or cat or a wall? Even then.)
-She’s sweet. When she gives hugs she pats your back or arm. She gives kisses freely, and blows kisses to everyone. She will sit in laps or with us for long periods, or go play on her own then come back for hugs and kisses.
You guys, she’s just… she’s great. Every day we look at her in wonder and amazement. I love this kid so freaking much.
This was before her 1/2 birthday party on Sunday. She wasn’t super excited about the cupcake dress, but she wore it all day and did great!

How can she be 18 months already?! I mean, I know in my head that she’s a year younger than Will (to the day!) and he’s 2 1/2 now but still! These babies with all their growing up.

I wanted to stuff your delicious baby in my mouth so I printed out this post and tried to eat all the pictures but it tasted like cellulose instead of cotton candy and buttered popcorn and hopes and Heaven.
DISAPPOINTMENT.
